Ruth O'Donnell

Ruth Adkins O'Donnell, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Mendes, Georgia on September 14, 2015. She was born in Grayson, Kentucky on April 8, 1928 to Cecil and Ethel Adkins. She moved to this area with her husband in 1947. Her pride in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Vincent O'Donnell, a daughter, Edra O'Donnell Brown, a sister, Letha Stafford Russ, and brothers, Otis Adkins, Lloyd Adkins, Arnold Adkins and Wallace Adkins.
She is survived by:
Son and Daughter-in-law: Martin and Sharon O'Donnell of Glennville, Georgia
Sister: Betty Hamilton of Detroit, Michigan
Brother: Eddie Jacobs of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky
Three grandchildren: Tracy (Al) Danner, Tammy (David) DeLoach, all of Glennville, Erica (Robert) Croft of Orlando, Florida
Five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Ramon Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jeff O'Donnell, Joey Waters, Jerry Branch, Adair Branch, Merriell Durrence, Mike Durrence.
