Swinton Stubbs

March 15, 1923 — February 10, 2011

Swinton F. Stubbs, 87 passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Community Hospice inpatient center in Vidalia. He was born March 15, 1923 in Glennville, Georgia to Shelton and Sallie Mae Strickland Stubbs. He had lived in Florida for many years before moving back to Glennville. He was a World War II Army veteran and was wounded in action receiving a purple heart. He loved to play his guitar and taught several others to play. He was a master carpenter and retired from civil service at Ft. Stewart. He attended Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Davidson Stubbs.
He is survived by, Children, Sherill Brannen

Sandy Stubbs all of Glennville
Sister, Marcelle Foresman of Glennville
Eight Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren, Two Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Loves Chapel Church Cemetery.
