Virginia Spires Mulligan, affectionately known as Jenny, was born on April 17, 1943, in the heart of Macon, Georgia. She graced this world with her presence until her peaceful passing on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at At Home Senior Living in Jesup, Georgia under the care of Hospice of South Georgia at the age of 82. Jenny was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend whose life journey was characterized by a profound dedication to her family and a remarkable creative talent that inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jenny's professional career was marked by versatility and commitment. She initially worked a short tenure as an x-ray technician. Later, she took on the responsibilities as a secretary for her father’s business, Spires Electric Motors. After moving to Glennville in 2005, she became a teller at South Georgia Bank showcasing unwavering work ethic and providing a warm smile with customer service to her community.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jenny cultivated a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests. She found solace and joy in reading, often escaping into the pages of a good book. Her love for board games brought laughter and camaraderie to family gatherings and friendships alike. A true lover of flowers, she spent countless hours working in her yards, where her green thumb breathed life into her surroundings. Jenny was also a gifted artist, being a self-taught painter and loved expressing her creativity through crafts and ceramics. She was also a member of Harmony Church.

Jenny’s indomitable spirit and warm heart will be forever remembered by those who knew her. Her kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Delores Sharpe and husband, Donald Mulligan.

Jenny is survived by:

Son, Donnie Mulligan (Fran) of Glennville, Georgia

Sister, Patsy Ruip (Ted) of Macon, Georgia

Brother, Ricky Spires of Macon, Georgia

Grandchildren, Isabella Mulligan and Colby Mulligan

Great Grandson, Colson, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, December 19, 2025 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. A graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Rd, Macon, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to: Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd, Jesup, Georgia 31545.
