Walter D. Boatright 90, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro. He was born March 9, 1925 in the Oliff Town Community, near Metter, Georgia to Benjamin Floyd and Sarah Annie Daughtry Boatright. He served in the U S Army in World War II and The Korean Conflict and was employed as an ASCS Agent with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He lived in many areas while working all over the State of Georgia, after retirement in 1986 he and his wife retired to Glennville. He served as a Bailiff for the Tattnall County Court for many years and was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church, where he was the oldest male member. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Stubbs Boatright and a sister, Lillian Edna Boatright Thomas.
He is survived by, nephews, Charles (Bonnie) Thomas and
Glenn (JoAnn) Thomas all of College Station, Texas
Several cousins and other relatives also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, Tuesday at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery with Military Honors.
