Zelta Durrence Jackson, 63, passed away at her home on May 17, 2026.
The Glennville, GA native was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Zelta was a loving and dedicated wife to the love of her life, Leon, whom she spent every moment she could with for the last 30 years. She would even tag along with him on the road during some of his long-haul trucking routes, so she didn’t have to be alone. Zelta savored time with her children and grandchildren who have lived at a distance since becoming adults. She did not let that distance stop her from spending time with her family, even braving a long journey to Japan to make sure her family knew she loved and cared for them. Zelta was known as a kind and compassionate friend who was always ready with a listening ear and would talk as long as it took to help someone endure a difficult time. She loved working in the yard, dedicating time to ensure it was vibrant and hospitable to birds she adored watching from her porch.
Zelta is survived by her husband, Leon Jackson; children, Jessica Kicklighter Bluethmann (Greg "Blue"), Justin Kicklighter (Tracey), and Joseph Kicklighter (Sheena); grandchildren, Collin Bluethmann, Jessie Bluethmann, Christen Bluethmann, Sky Kicklighter Richardson, Autumn Kicklighter, Jason Kicklighter, Aleyna Kicklighter, and Olivia Kicklighter; brothers, Gene Hammock, Junior Durrence (Julie), James Durrence (Christine), Joseph Durrence (Teresa) and sister, Nancy Moore (Ronnie); and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Old Anderson Church Cemetery.
